Student grants
Purpose
MIDWEST will award Student Grants to support increased participation of high school, undergraduate and graduate level students with disabilities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Examples of the types of activities supported:
- Projects designed to encourage the participation of students with disabilities to pursue careers in STEM;
- Development of new equipment, software, or materials to improve access to STEM;
- Modifications of equipment, software, materials or laboratories that improve access to STEM;
Grant amounts vary for high school students, undergraduates, and graduate students.

Who Can Apply
The MIDWEST Student Grants are intended for high school, undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who demonstrate a strong interest in entering and/or majoring in STEM disciplines, and who are planning or considering STEM careers.
Evaluation Criteria
Student project applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria :
- Potential of the project to improve access to STEM;
- Feasibility of the work plan;
- Ability to serve as a model for other students and/or schools;
- Potential for sustainability; and
- Quality of the evaluation plan.

The application must include a parent or guardian signature if you are under 18 years of age.

Two letters of Recommendation
Submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher, faculty member, or someone who has worked with you closely.

Resume
Submit an up-to-date copy of your resume.

MIDWEST is now accepting applications for Student Grants. Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis.
