Midwest Alliance Internship Opportunities
Internships are supervised learning experiences designed to support students in their academic or professional planning and development. The Midwest Alliance internship program provides support and financial assistance to students and alumni with disabilities in securing STEM-related internships with businesses and college or university laboratories, as well as in enrichment camps (typically for high school students).
We Offer:
- Assistance in finding internships, enrichment camps, and laboratory placements
- Advice and guidance in arranging accommodations and other resources necessary for a successful placement
- Stipends (Stipends are available even if the student or alum finds their own placement)
Who Can Apply
Applications for the Midwest Alliance internship program are accepted on a rolling basis. Placements are intended for Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin high school and postsecondary students with disabilities who demonstrate a strong interest in entering and/or majoring in STEM disciplines, and who are planning or considering STEM careers. Alumni who have received a STEM degree within the past 6 months can receive assistance as well. NOTE: The deadline for applying to be in our internship program for the 2009-2010 school year is April 16th, 2010.
